HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY

HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY

How do you feel? It sounds like a fairly simple question, but it has complex ramifications. You can (and should) maintain a healthy diet and exercise consistently, but if you feel exhausted, ‘cloudy’, and/or depressed, it all seems futile. This can be a byproduct of the aging process. For both men and women, hormones naturally decrease with age. Uncomfortable and problematic symptoms such as weight gain, loss of energy, loss of mental clarity, irritability, and decrease of libido. With advancements in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), you now have the option of retaking control of both your body and mind.

WHAT IS BHRT?

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy is a systemic approach to fight the effects of age in both men and women. The human body performs countless internal functions every second, and hormones facilitate the vital progress of these processes as we get older.

As time passes, we may have more difficulty maintaining healthy bones, muscle mass, and libido. Hormone Replacement Therapy could be the perfect boost your body needs to support its natural capabilities. The team at The Remedy IV Health + Wellness understands the body’s delicate balance between testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and thyroid hormones (among others!).

Your journey is our journey, every step of the way.

BENEFITS OF BHRT

There is a long list of benefits when it comes to bio-identical hormone therapy. By keeping hormones restored and optimized, the human immune system remains supported to reduce inflammation which can lead to health concerns and other diseases. This may provide positive benefits for our brain, heart muscle, bones, and sleep. Bioidentical hormone therapy also helps maintain the mental and analytical edge while maintaining a cholesterol level, healthy weight and restored libido.

HOW ARE BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONES ADMINISTERED?

Hormone Pellets are about the size of a grain of rice, made up of bio-identical hormones that have been pressed or fused into very small solid cylinders, providing sustained hormone levels throughout the day may last for approximately 3 to 6 months. The pellets are absorbed by your body based on its actual needs and are not time released. As a result, they eliminate the fluctuations that can occur with other delivery methods. This delivery method most closely mimics the actions of the body’s natural hormone release. Because pellets have been used since the 1930’s they have more data to support their use than any other method. Pellet insertion is quick, and virtually painless. A small area between the buttock and hip is sterilized and local anesthetic is injected just under the skin. A tiny nick is then made in the fatty area of the hip where the pellets are inserted underneath the skin. This incision is so tiny that there isn’t any need for sutures.

Injections, for both mean and women typically involve weekly injections either administered here in our office. IM injections offer a variety of advantages. Injections are thought to be safer than topical therapies because they minimize the risk of unintentionally transferring testosterone to others. Injected directly into the muscle, the hormone flows directly into the bloodstream, so they are an efficient means of delivery. You may begin noticing the benefits of your therapy within 24 to 48 hours of administration.
Hormone Creams may include a number of bio-identical hormones and are customizable. When applied regularly, creams may provide a fairly consistent release of hormones. Although, you need to remember to do this on a daily basis to maintain consistency. A potential drawback to creams is the possibility of accidental transference. When applying the cream to areas of the body that won’t come into contact with others and proper hand washing can help prevent accidental transference.

For some hormone injections, pellets, or creams may not be an option. As South Florida’s premier private healthcare facility we strive to provide our clients with many options. This includes Peptide Therapy, which can be applied subcutaneously, through a cream, nasal spray, or in oral form.

PEPTIDE THERAPY

Peptides are the building blocks of proteins and are composed of amino acids that work to regulate a variety of biological functions and processes. These naturally occurring peptides act as signaling molecules within the body and instruct other cells and molecules on what functions to perform. There are over 7,000 known peptides within the human body and though some may be similar each is responsible for facilitating a different response and action within the body. Some common functions of peptides include providing pain relief, aiding in soft tissue repair, accelerating healing processes, promoting weight loss and lean muscle gain, reversing symptoms of sexual dysfunction, and improving hormone production and cognitive function. The unique property of peptides can be harnessed and used to treat specific conditions; this treatment process is known as peptide therapy.

WHAT IS PEPTIDE THERAPY?

Though our bodies naturally produce peptides, the production of peptides can vary greatly by individual and as we age, the number and quality of peptides within the body may decline.Peptide therapy refers to restoring the number of peptides to stimulate cellular regrowth systems within the body as a treatment option for specific conditions. Peptides are typically administered directly into the bloodstream through subcutaneous injections, but may also be applied as topical creams, nasal sprays, or oral forms. This form of treatment can be entirely customized to the patient’s unique needs and goals. By using this targeted method, we can produce a specific reaction in the body and treat a variety of conditions.

BENEFITS OF PEPTIDE THERAPY

As stated above, peptide therapy is an extremely unique treatment option that can be used to treat a variety of concerns. Some of the benefits of peptide therapy can include but are not limited to the following:
